Registering your equipment with NER already helps law enforcement identify and recover stolen equipment. They work with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) to help track registered equipment when it's reported stolen. Now, registration could also save you money if theft occurs.
Beginning Oct. 1, 2026, EMC's contractors equipment coverage includes a new benefit for NER-registered equipment: Up to $10,000 of the applicable theft deductible may be waived when covered equipment is stolen.
For the waiver to apply, the equipment must be registered before the theft, with:
- Manufacturer
- Model number
- Serial number
- Year of manufacture
Registration must also meet NER requirements at the time of loss.
